INFORMATION ABOUT BORNEO BIRD IMAGES.COM

www.borneobirdimages.com is a non-profit website developed by the Borneo Bird Club and intended to educate the public and raise awareness about the birds of Borneo and their ecology. We hope that it will encourage overseas birders to visit Borneo and Sabahans, Sarawakians, Bruneians and Indonesians to take an active interest in their local birds.

GEOGRAPHICAL COVERAGE

Borneo is a large island incorporating the Malaysian States of Sabah and Sarawak, the independent Sultanate of Brunei and the very large Indonesian province of Kalimantan. We are looking to load bird photos taken in Borneo only or of Bornean birds (e.g. Bornean birds in captivity) taken outside of Borneo.

HOW CAN YOU HELP: We are looking to load

  • High quality photos of Borneo’s birds
  • Any interesting photos of Bornean birds.
  • Site photos of interesting habitat and bird watching sites in Borneo.
  • Sound recordings of Bornean bird calls and songs.
  • Videos of Bornean birds.

LOADING YOUR PHOTOS/CALLS/VIDEO

Please email the images or recordings to us together with information about locality and date of photo for each photo or recording. For video, please provide YouTube links.

REGISTER to receive newsletters and email updates concerning the Borneo Bird Club and the Borneo Bird Images website. Register by clicking the top right hand side of the Home Page.

YOUR PROFILE: We request that all photographers and recordists provide a photograph and a few personal details including contact information on the site but this is not obligatory.

LABELLING YOUR PHOTOS: It is very important that you provide full data for all your photos including date taken and locality. Without this information much of the value of a good photo is lost. Photos loaded without this data may be removed from the site at a later date.

RESTRICTIONS: We retain the right to remove unsuitable photos from the website at our discretion.

CORRECTING MISTAKES: Due to the rapid development of this website mistakes may have been made in naming and loading photos. Please inform us of mistakes as soon as possible, so that they can be corrected.
