Bornean Oriole

Latin Name : Oriolus hosii

Site Name : Sarawak Museum

Photographer : PHILLIPPS, Quentin

Date : 2010-10-04

Notes : The bottom four birds are Bornean Orioles, the top two birds are Black-and-Crimson Orioles photographed at the Sarawak Museum with the kind permission of Dr Charles Leh. Note that even with these skins the beaks look different. Bornean has a dark pink beak in life whilst the Black-and-Crimson Oriole has a very pale grey beak a good distinguishing feature from the Island Thrush (bright yellow bill) with which it is sometimes confused.
